THE COURSE

Learning the Vedic Meditation Technique consists of:

4 x 90 MINUTE SESSIONS

You'll learn how to effortlessly enter the meditative state in the first session via personalised instruction. 

The following three sessions super refine your practice and by the completion of the course you'll have practical experience combined with a deep theoretical understanding that allows you to practice entirely on your own, anywhere, anytime.

ONCE YOU LEARN THE TECHNIQUE YOU HAVE IT FOR LIFE!

Group courses are conducted on a regular basis in Sydney and The Sapphire Coast.

Private courses are available on request for those who prefer one on one instruction.

the course of instruction as well as access to regular follow-up meetings, online tutorials, refresher courses, and the ability to take the course any time in the future at no cost.

Before beginning the course you will need to attend a free information night. This provides wonderful insight into the benefits and science of Vedic Meditation and its application in daily life and is a prerequisite to the course.

Mark is a multi-award winning director-designer, devoted husband and father, and custodian of ancient Vedic wisdom. His mission is to help people realise their greatest potential and access their natural gifts to reshape their inner and outer experience.

He is the owner and creative director of multi-award winning Sydney based production studio Where There's Smoke. Described as a bold creative leader with an acute level of cultural awareness, Mark has created world-class and influential work within the areas of film, television and digital environments. 

Driven by a strong DIY ethic and an instinctively creative mind, Mark has from an early age approached life through the lens of self exploration.   • I HAVE NO MEDITATION EXPERIENCE, IS THAT OK?
    • That is completely ok. Whether you are a newbie or have tried to meditate before does not matter. You’ll master this technique very quickly. The meditative state is a completely natural experience, one that your body and mind was engineered to enjoy. Therefore no super human skills or abilities are required, just the correct technique and instruction, which I promise you’ll get.
  • I'M TOO BUSY TO MEDITATE
    • There’s an expression; ‘If you’re too busy to meditate for 20 minutes then you should do it for an hour!’ Jokes aside meditation may seem like it’s robbing you of time, but it will actually make you more productive. More headspace means increased creativity and performance.
  • I HAVE A REALLY SHORT ATTENTION SPAN! MY MIND IS TOO BUSY! 
    • Almost everyone thinks they'll be the first that can't learn to meditate, but after 4 simple sessions they learn just like everyone else that they can meditate effortlessly. Everyones mind is the same in that it has the capacity to be overactive, and it also has the natural capacity to be still. The correct technique and instruction easily brings the mind into a state of balance.
  • CAN ANYONE LEARN?
    • Anyone with a mind can do it! Children, the elderly, and everyone in between can and do meditate. This technique is so simple, natural and effortless to practise. Thats why its so popular amongst all walks of life. 
  • IS THERE ONGOING SUPPORT ONCE I LEARN?
    • After course completion you'll be self sufficient and ready to enjoy the practice and it's benefits for the rest of your life. You'll also have the option to attend monthly group meditation sessions which help refresh your practice and keep things progressing should you wish to attend.
  • WILL I BE ABLE TO MEDITATE ON MY OWN AFTER THE COURSE?
    • Yes, and even during the training you'll be able to meditate on your own at home. Self sufficiency and self empowerment is the goal of the practice and the whole design of the training is to teach you all you need to be just that.
  • IS IT REALLY THAT EASY? 
    • Yes, anyone can do it.
  • DO I HAVE TO SIT LIKE A YOGI? ON THE FLOOR? CROSSLEGGED?
    • Not at all, sitting comfortably in a chair is all that is required.
  • HOW MANY PEOPLE TAKE THE COURSE?
    • Generally there's no more than 6 per course so that each meditator receives due attention and instruction. 
  • I DON'T LIKE GROUPS. WHAT ARE THE INTERACTIONS DURING THE SESSIONS?
    • Rather than being a therapy session the course is geared towards facilitating a  fascinating learning process. You won't be sharing your life stories - you'll be absorbing information. 
  • WHAT IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR ME?
    • People from all walks of life have learned this meditation and all of them benefit from the practice. But if you feel like it’s not working, you can rely on me to give you continued training and guidance until it does.
  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE THE BENEFITS?
    • The meditation begins to harmonise your system right from the first session. Some people feel the benefit straight away, sometimes spectacularly. Others notice it after a of bit regular practice.
  • WILL LEARNING TO MEDITATE CHANGE MY PERSONALITY?
    • Stress certainly distorts our personality, so by meditating and dissolving stress you’ll see a decline in the negative aspects of yourself and a marked increase in your innate positive qualities and strengths.
  • IS THERE ANY RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION WITH VEDIC MEDITATION?
    • No, Vedic Meditation is a natural ‘mental technique’ that facilitates the experience of a deep meditative state within the body and mind. The technique originated in ancient India so carries that faint flavour, but VM is non-religious. The meditative state is something everyone gains benefit from regardless of what they believe
  • WHAT DOES THE COURSE PAYMENT COVER?
    • The course fee covers the 4 training sessions, plus; unlimited access to the monthly group follow up sessions, the option to re-sit the course any time in the future, What’s more you’ll receive access to my online meditation follow up platform. You meditation progression will be well covered!
  • DO I NEED TO BRING A NOTEPAD?
    • Not really as you’ll be absorbing and assimilating knowledge, but if you’re a note taker this is okay too.
  • WHERE DOES THE TECHNIQUE COME FROM?
    • The Vedic Meditation technique has been practiced for over 5,000 years and has its origins in the ancient Vedic tradition of India. The purity and effectiveness of the practice has been maintained through an unbroken line of teachers from that time. Although originating in India this is not exclusively “Indian” knowledge. The technique is universal in its nature. The ancient Rishi’s (seers) realised that man could find tremendous resources through the development of his consciousness and the Vedic Meditation technique is the result of thousands of years of research and investigation into the subtle inner workings of the mind, body and consciousness. Such a technique and knowledge was specifically designed for “householders” – those fully engaged in worldly life, like you and I, rather than those interested in a reclusive or monastic lifestyle.
  • DO I HAVE TO CLEAR MY MIND OF THOUGHTS AND SIT PERFECTLY STILL?
    • No, this technique is not about controlling or emptying the mind of thoughts. Vedic Meditation is a natural and effortless mental technique that leads the mind into deep state of relaxation without the need of force. It is not necessary to sit perfectly still or to have a totally silent mind. This will become a natural result from experiencing the deep relaxation of the technique.
  • HOW DOES VEDIC MEDITATION COMPARE WITH OTHER FORMS OF MEDITATION?
    • Vedic Meditation is a completely natural and effortless technique. Other systems of meditation typically involve concentration or control of the mind. With VM the mind naturally dives deeply within through the agency of a mantra. The process is easy.
  • HOW DO I LEARN TO MEDITATE WITH YOU?
    • The first step is to attend a free information night or simply call me to discuss the course further. Then sign up for a course through the online system or by email if you prefer. 
  • WHERE DO YOU TEACH?
    • Typically from Manly (area), Sydney + Merimbula (area), Sapphire Coast. For classes of 5 + I'm more than happy to facilitate courses in different locations nationally and internationally.
  • WILL I HAVE TO CHANGE MY LIFE AND GIVE UP THINGS LIKE COFFE AND ALCOHOL?
    • No. You are not asked to give up anything.
